I've come to realize
that a whole lot of people have misunderstood Education for Academics which is
a no-no!, where as there is quite a variance between education and
academics.
"Education is the process or art of imparting knowledge, skill and judgment while academics is the act of belonging to an academy or other higher institution of learning; also a scholarly society or organization."
A spoken word poet Suli Breaks once said "Education is the key, academics(school) is the lock". As of fact you can be educated in any field of life, Malcolm X was a self educated human right activists, Mohammed Ali was educated in boxing, Nelson Mandela was educated in the act of politics, Bill Gates was educated in being a business magnate same as Aliko Dangote.
No one
is criticizing academics but we live in a world where academics is highly
appraised to the detriment of education. You can have the B.sc, M.sc, PhD, have
all the academic certificates of the world, without education the mind of a man
is weak and devoid of knowledge. Education knows no limits nor bounds whereas
academics exists just within the four walls of a classroom, sometimes when i
see students of higher academics institutions, I ponder how many of them are
really educated as they are been told by their tutors and the society they live
in.
Dreams, talents and potentials that could have been greatly invaluable to the world has been destroyed and forfeited all for academics, many minds have been misled into believing that "Academics (what they call education) guarantee success". You can be educated in so many fields or facets of life without even setting foot into the four walls of a classroom so why focus all your life into academics when you can be a great mind as an educated man unlike those academics fanatics.
Your
life is yours and only in you, so why should you give in to the opinions of the
society when you can be a leader of your life. You either choose to be an
educated man for only education guarantees success or be swayed away by the academics of a
society of weak minds.
